What to Expect with Clear Aligners
Following the initial consultation and the commencement of treatment, our state-of-the-art iTero Scanner will be used to take detailed pictures of your teeth. These images are sent off for processing, during which time Invisalign laboratories will create a series of aligners that will gradually straighten and reposition your teeth.
From there, the treatment process is largely self-managed – in so far as clients are responsible for wearing the aligners for 22 hours per day to optimise their results. Regular check-ins with your dentist, and a switch-up of aligners every two weeks, keep the treatment on track and ensure that by the end of the process, you are left with a smile to be proud of.

What Are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are a tooth straightening solution that uses custom made, transparent trays to gradually move your teeth over time. They are designed to fit perfectly in your mouth for maximum comfort and can be easily and discreetly removed in just a few seconds when needed to eat or clean.
How Do Clear Aligners Work?
Your dentist will create a bespoke treatment plan for your clear aligners, based on where your teeth are at the beginning and where they need to be to get the desired results. The aligners trays or retainers are then created in a sequence and need to be worn in the order as determined by the dentist.
Each set will need to be worn for around 2 weeks before changing to the next one which works to slowly move them over time and gradually align the teeth properly.
What Can Clear Aligners Be Used To Treat?
Clear aligners can be used to treat a wide number of bite and alignment issues such as;

The amount of time that clear aligner treatment takes to complete will vary depending on each individual patient.
The full process can take as little as 8 months for those with mild alignment issues who follow the guidelines and respond well to treatment. For those with more a complex case, this can take up to 2 years in order to ensure that the results are as close to perfect as possible.
Retention is a big part of any alignment treatment so you will need to continue to wear a retainer at night whilst you sleep to help prevent teeth from shifting.
