A visit to the dentist can be stressful, but we have taken the time to create a calm, relaxing environment as we believe every time you come into the practice you should feel comfortable and at ease.
Our Dental Nurses are an incredibly important part of this experience. They are all sensitive, gentle and caring, working hard to ensure all our patients feel happy before, during and after every appointment.
Danielle joined The Essex Smile Centre and qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2014 after an early career in retail where she learned the importance of providing great customer service.
Danielle has a very impressive list of qualifications. As well as her dental nursing qualification, Danielle is qualified in impression taking and holds an advanced qualification in Implant nursing. As Principal Dentist Stephen Keane’s sidekick she particularly enjoys orthodontic dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, oral health education and providing chair-side attention to patients. She loves making a difference to people’s lives, giving them confidence and helping anxious patients feel at ease.
In her role as Head Nurse she supervises various elements of the dental practice. Providing support and direction to enhance the performance, skills and knowledge of the nursing team. She also works closely with the practice management team to deliver quality dental care to patients in line with CQC, GDC guidelines, Health & Safety requirements and other legislation.
Another enthusiastic West Ham fan she can often be found at home games with her husband, and sometimes even with Stephen or Declan. A keen traveller Danielle has spent time in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines and South Africa and is always planning her next adventure.

Amy first joined us in 2011 as a dental nurse but was most recently promoted to Treatment Care Coordinator in November 2019. As Declan’s nurse, she particularly enjoys cosmetic aesthetic dentistry, orthodontics, family dentistry and oral health education.
Amy has a huge thirst for knowledge and has undertaken an intense training and development plan here at The Essex Smile Centre in order to challenge herself and further her career.
In 2015 Amy fulfilled an ambition of travelling and working abroad with her partner and experienced nursing in Australia where she gained valuable insights into other procedures and practices.
Amy is a happy and very valued member of the team here and is passionate about ensuring patients receive the very best care possible. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with partner Joe and dancing, including ballroom, Latin American and hip hop styles.
If money and career were no object what would you really be doing?
A: Travelling the world, buying properties wherever I fell in love with and sharing the money with my friends and family.

With special interests in Cosmetic Dentistry, Implants and Oral Surgery, Sarah finds the ability to help others to be the most rewarding part of her role. But when she is not busy caring for our patients, Sarah’s other passions include keeping fit, going to the gym and her cat Gus!
Sarah’s favourite tipple is an Espresso Martini, her greatest weakness is chocolate and her favourite way to spend a Sunday is ‘Easy’ just like the song.

Outside of work, she is kept busy by her husband and two gorgeous boys.

This work includes advanced procedures like bone augmentation and sinus grafts, a field of dentistry which Beth is fascinated by. Clair is the dental nurse to Mr Parker. Kind and caring by nature, she enjoys meeting patients and making them feel at ease.
She trained at Basildon college before joining the team at the Essex Smile Centre back in 1991. She passed her dental nursing exam in November 1999
Clair lives with her son Aaron. Together they enjoy the outdoors, visiting places of interest, walking and bike riding. Clair is passionate about photography, reading and 80s music – although she is also open to a bit of classical and most other genres.
Lushika joined The Essex Smile Centre in February 2020 after a number of years working at practices in Brentwood and South London. She has a Diploma in Dental Nursing, which she gained in 2013 through Tempdent Dental Agency.
Her special interests in dentistry include implants and Invisalign and she takes great satisfaction in seeing a patient’s confidence return just as quickly as their smile is restored.
Married with a young son, Lushika loves to explore new places with her family. She describes herself as kind, easy going, understanding – the perfect qualities for a dental nurse in our wonderful team.
Which destination in the world that you haven’t already visited would you most like to go?
A: The USA
Laura joined our practice in June 2019. She had always wanted to become a dental nurse but was initially unsure what career path to take in order to achieve her goal. Educated locally at FitzWimarc school, Laura went on to complete a Level 3 photography course at Seevic college. She gained experience working in a tanning salon and in retail before being given her opportunity at The Essex Smile Centre.
Her enthusiasm for the role and caring approach make Laura a real asset to our team. As she continues to build her knowledge and skills, she plans to progress further within the practice and is particularly interested in hygiene. Laura lists “making a patient’s day” as the most rewarding part of her job.
Laura lives with her mum and brother and enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend of two years. In her spare time, she still enjoys photography but has decided to make it a hobby rather than a career.
Her three luxury items on a dessert island would be her eyebrow pencil, a pillow and someone else, so she wasn’t alone!
Maddy joined The Essex Smile Centre in 2018 as a Trainee Dental Nurse.
Maddy has always loved the idea of working as a Dental Nurse so when the job opportunity arose here she knew had to apply. She is excited about pursuing her career in Dental Nursing as she loves caring for patients and building a friendly rapport with them. The team here think she has definitely found her calling as a Dental Nurse and are as excited as she is about her prospects.
Outside of work, Abbie enjoys listening to music, shopping and going out with friends.
If money and career were no object what would you really be doing?
A: Not sure as I’m enjoying learning and working at The Essex Smile Centre. I find it interesting.
Before joining the Essex Smile Centre as an apprentice Dental Nurse in July 2020, Lillie attended Seevic College, gaining a Level 3 BTEC Business Diploma (2018). She has also obtained a Level 2 Beauty Diploma (2019) and a Level 2 AAT (2020).
Lillie gained professional experience in two local beauty salons before setting her sights on dentistry, attracted by the science of the industry and the prospect of continuing to learn about more advanced treatments over time.
For Lillie, the most rewarding aspect of her role today is seeing the positive impact dentistry can have on someone’s life – particularly where self-conscious patients have their confidence restored by restorative treatments.
Lillie lives at home with her mum, brother and my two dogs (pugs). She enjoys keeping fit at the gym, spending time with her boyfriend and socialising with friends and family. She describes herself as funny, friendly and indecisive – so this description could change soon!
