Plans are tailored to your requirements, allowing you to budget for your dental care with confidence. To determine the cost of your plan, our dentists will calculate what treatments you should require over a 12-month period and a monthly fee that covers the costs.
Plans can include a wide range of treatments and services such as x-rays, check-ups and hygienist appointments as well as any necessary fillings and extractions.
We offer three types of plans at the Essex Smile Centre: Denplan Care, Denplan Essentials and Denplan for Children. We have outlined the main features of each plan below.
Denplan Care
Denplan is the easy way to spread the cost of your dental care and covers most of your preventative and restorative treatments.
A typical Denplan Care plan includes:
- Check-ups
- Scaling, polishing and other hygiene treatments (as specified by your dentist)
- Preventative dental advice
- X-rays
- Necessary fillings
- Necessary extractions
- 50% of major restorative treatments (as specified by your dentist)
- The option to include worldwide dental injury and dental emergency cover
Denplan Care starts from £25.04 a month (including supplementary insurance)

Denplan Essentials
Denplan Essentials is a simple budgeting plan that makes it easy to look after your dental health by forming a habit of regular appointments.
A typical Denplan Essentials plan includes:
- 2 x check-ups
- 2 x 30-minute hygiene appointments
- X-rays
- 10% discount on clinically necessary treatment
- The option to include worldwide dental injury and dental emergency cover

Denplan for Children
Denplan for Children helps to promote a positive relationship with visiting the dentist and protects your child’s oral health from a young age.
Like our other plans, Denplan for Children also includes the option to add worldwide dental injury and dental emergency cover through Denplan Supplementary Insurance.

How will Denplan benefit my oral health?
Denplan benefits your oral health by promoting regular dental check-ups and hygiene appointments through affordable monthly payments. Regular appointments help to detect and deal with issues like cavities and gum disease early on, with personalised treatment plans tailored to your specific requirements. Denplan also includes the option of emergency cover, ensuring you’re supported whenever unexpected dental issues occur.
Are there any discounts for additional family members?
There are discounts when more than one family member (or group) is registered at the practice:
- Two family/group members – 5%
- Three family/group members – 10%
- Four or more family/group members – 15%
Please note – to receive the discount, all payments must be made from a single Direct Debit.
Who am I in contract with?
Under Denplan Care, you are in contract with The Essex Smile Centre. For supplementary insurance, you are in contract with Simplyhealth Access.
How are my Denplan fees calculated?
Your dental fees are calculated by our dentists and are based on numerous factors including your dental health and the care and treatment we expect to provide you over the next 12 months.
