Join us in congratulating Maddy who passed her apprenticeship last month, receiving her GDC certificate to become a fully-fledged dental nurse. It is so rewarding to help nurture young talent through apprenticeship schemes and all the team are very proud of her achievement.

Maddy had been attending the Colchester Institute one day per week for the past 2 years whilst gaining practical experience working in the practice on the other 4 days. Although she found the workload heavy at times, she says she received lots of help and encouragement from her colleagues at the Essex Smile Centre.

Maddy commented: “Some of my assignments were challenging but I discovered that when you want something hard enough, you find the motivation to achieve it. I’d also like to thank the dentists and nurses around the practice who supported me when I needed it.”

But the hard work does not stop there. Maddy is now looking forward to her full-time nursing role, helping patients on their journeys and assisting our dentists in creating beautiful smiles. She also has her sights set on some further courses including impressions and radiography.
