I had a consultation on Saturday to discuss options including Invisalign and Composite Artistry. I would like to thank Dr Jay and his assistant – as well as reception – who made the whole experience exceptional. I am very nervous when it comes to the dentist, so I was very surprised at how easy this consultation was compared to other dentists.

Declan suggested I try the Smilelign system, rather than a fixed brace I have been using the smilelign aligner system for six months now and it has greatly improved my teeth. I found the retainer very comfortable and easy to use. E

The care from the time I telephoned at 8.30 am and spoke to Sue to my further calls with Karen who managed to secure an appointment for me yesterday was absolutely wonderful – so compassionate and understanding.

“The Essex Smile Centre, so very aptly named, was originally called Church View Dental Care, very cool, very efficient but what a transformation! Now The Essex Smile Centre, still very cool, very efficient but now with a dash of glamour.
A stylish entrance leads to a clear, neat reception area and a welcoming smile bids you enter to a comfortable spacious waiting room. A friendly nurse wearing an elegant, well-designed uniform conducts you to your dentist in an ultra hygienic state of the art treatment room, and any nervousness is soon allayed by an expert.
The refurbishment of this building must be applauded, it is light airy and relaxing. The Essex Smile Centre must be the ultimate in an excellent dental practice. Treatment, efficiency and organisation are second to none. As a patient for over twenty years I speak from experience.”
“I have suffered from teeth grinding/clenching for a few years on and off but the last year has been far worse. I suffer from headaches, jaw pain, and ear pain particularly on my right side. I was using the muscle in my face so much that it became enlarged on the right hand side this also lead to trouble eating as I was unable to chew. I was referred to the hospital in September 2009 and they gave me a mouth guard to wear. I found every time I wore it the symptoms became worse.
When I went back to the hospital they told me to persevere it would get better. Well it didn’t get better only worse. In November 2010 the hospital confirmed that mouth guards can make the symptoms worse and cause you to clench even more. I stopped using it and in November 2010 the hospital prescribed me a low does of an anti-depressant which was to relax my muscles and stop the grinding/clenching. I took this for 3 days and ended up with sore gums this is one of the side effects from the tablets.
My mum found some leaflets on teeth grinding/clenching at our dentist and gave them to me to read. I then made an appointment to see Stephen at the dentist and he suggested an NTI splint to me he explained it was small piece of plastic which would cover my bottom 4 teeth. This would then stop my back teeth meeting therefore I would no longer grind/clench. I decided to go for it and within a week of wearing it noticed an improvement.
I was no longer suffering with headaches and the jaw and ear pain was improving I have now even started to eat properly again. I have now had the NTI splint for 3 weeks and am noticing an improvement every day. I would definitely recommend this NTI splint to anyone who is suffering with these awful symptoms. I was beginning to think I would never get better but this really has made the world of difference to me.”
“Firstly I would like to express my thanks to all of the team at The Smile Centre. I am a relatively new (& was a very nervous) patient to the surgery. From my first phone call I was extremely impressed when I spoke to a lady called Caron who managed to calmly find the right dentist for me as she listened to my fears and anxieties. I wish to thank her so much as she made an excellent choice in opting for Teki and without her talking to me I doubt I would have attended in the first place.
Having never had any injections in my mouth previously, the thought of having this was enough to fill me with utter dread, but thanks to Teki and Sophia I do believe that I am slowly overcoming my fear.
My treatment and care has been superb and in such a pleasant atmosphere. Teki is a real credit, not only to your surgery, but to the dental profession. He has managed to put me at ease at all times and has fully explained my plan of treatments, giving injections so extremely gently, and also completing the fillings without any pain thereafter. I am exceptionally pleased with my composite fillings that he did, thank you. Jayne, the hygienist, was lovely and did an excellent job cleaning my teeth!

“Since moving to Hullbridge in 1967 I have attended Churchview Dental Care, first at the surgery in Hullbridge, but when that closed I moved to Rayleigh.
During the years there have been many changes, but the last improvement here made a very modern surgery with friendly and helpful receptionists in smart dress and very professional dentists, making this a much improved practice.”

I was offered expert advice and the treatment I received from Mr Declan Keane on my veneers was excellent.

The laboratory personal were also very friendly and very interested on providing the results that would please me for a long time. “I’d been unhappy with my teeth for some time before coming to see Declan and Amy. I hadn’t needed a brace when I was younger, but my teeth moved considerably in my latter teenage years.
Declan suggested I go for the Invisalign Lite package as it would straighten my teeth quickly whilst going unnoticed by most people I spoke to. Now, after 8 months, I couldn’t be happier with my teeth. Declan and Amy have been helpful throughout the whole process and have really worked with me to get the smile I’ve always wanted.
The Invisalign moulds were relatively painless and the home whitening was really effective. I couldn’t recommended this treatment or Declan and Amy highly enough.”
“I am writing to thank you and all the staff at The Smile Centre for the treatment I have received. After my consultation, I was soon fitted with my Inman Aligner, a little uncomfortable for a couple of weeks, but I did get used to it, and it became part of my daily routine, I even ended up wearing it at work. My treatment was a little over 3 months, in the last weeks I noticed a lot of movement. I can honestly say I was over the moon with the result, and so quickly.
I am so pleased I found The Smile Centre, all the staff have always been friendly and helpful. Once again a big Thank You Stephen, I am so pleased with my new smile. I would not hesitate to recommend the Inman Aligner to anyone like me who is uncomfortable with their teeth.”
“I feel that in common with most people, the very thought of a regular appointment in the dentist chair does not thrill, nor fill me with much desire. However, I can say that Mr Keane and his very able and experienced staff do their utmost to make it as painless and pleasant as possible. I calculate that I must have been with Mr Keane’s practice for about forty years, formally in his practice in Hullbridge but predominately in Rayleigh.
During that time I am satisfied that the treatment and advice that I have received has been sound and of high class. I have been particularly impressed to have received on a number of occasions an enquiring telephone call twenty four hours after some particularly tricky dental treatment to make sure that all is well, it’s comforting to know that the after care is given a high priority status. Another telephone call you can expect from one of the delightful efficient young ladies behind the reception desk, is a timely reminder the day before your allocated appointment so there is absolutely no excuse for forgetfulness.
I was encouraged to join the Denplan scheme when it was first introduced and found it to be most advantageous and complimentary to my budgeting. Last year following many consolations with Mr Declan Keane, I plucked up the courage to have twenty teeth veneered. At all times during this lengthy process it was carefully explained to me in a reassuring professional manner what to expect – THE RESULTS ARE STAGGERING and I am so pleased I had it done.”
“I have been attending Churchview Dentist surgery for just over 30 years. This obviously speaks volumes on how I and my three generations of family regard the practice, always professional and attentive with a happy and calm attitude. You climb the stairs to be greeted by the receptionists who are always welcoming which helps you to relax straight away.
Both dentists, father and now his sons, have always relaxed you and carried out their job very professionally. Best advice is always forthcoming. The dental surgery has always tried to keep up with new technology. Most recently they have refurbished the complex and equipped and modernised for the 21st century. The atmosphere is still the same but there is a fresher look about the place. There is an airy comfortable waiting room, with recently dated magazines for all ages and gender and a flat screen TV to occupy and relax you.
The surgeries have all the latest equipment for the dentist to carryout his work. A computer to assist him, background music, air conditioning, TV screen for the patients, good lighting and obviously the latest dental equipment and not forgetting the x-ray machine so that patients need not be escorted to another room. I have had some excellent work preformed on my teeth over the years along with my wife and daughters and her family.
I will therefore continue to visit the surgery as it has so much to offer. The staff have obviously been trained to a high standard and are professional in all their tasks. The staff must enjoy working in the practice as there is very little turnover and therefore you always see the same smiley faces.”
