The Clearstep System is a way of achieving a beautiful straight smile invisibly.

At The Smile Centre we offer the Clear Brace from Clearstep. Both Drs Declan and Stephen Keane have undertaken advanced courses in this field and are fully qualified Clearstep practitioners.

Clearstep provides a series of aligners (positioners) which fit precisely over your teeth. You wear each clear positioner for 2 weeks. Each positioner will move your teeth up to 0.25mm at a time. Depending on the severity of your case you will be given 8 positioners at a time. Mild cases usually only require 8 while moderate/severe cases require more over the treatment time.

The simple Clearstep process to getting started:

1. You will have an initial consultation with either Drs Declan or Stephen Keane, who will answer your questions and have a look at your teeth.
   
   
2. If you decide to go ahead with a Clearstep assessment then we will take some impressions of your teeth, some photographs and x-rays, so that a diagnosis and treatment plan can be provided to you.
   
   
3. Once your assessment is back your Dentist will discuss your treatment options with you. If you're happy to proceed, we will advise Clearstep to make your invisible braces. You are required to read and then sign a detailed consent form before we proceed.
   
   
4. The positioners are ready to wear in 3weeks and are supplied in boxes of 8. Treatment is supplied in stages, so you will need to go back and see your Clearstep practitioner approximately every 4 months for a check up and a new impression, for your treatment to continue.
   
   
5. At the end of treatment you will be required to wear retainers every night to prevent your teeth from drifting back to their original position.

Clearstep invisible braces may be used to correct adults or children's crooked teeth depending on their individual needs.
