I first came to The Smile Centre because I was unhappy with the results from another dentist. Your honest and relaxed surgery environment eased my dental fears, which in itself is a challenge. You offer a professional yet highly personalized approach to your dental care making my visits to you as comfortable and stress free as possible. You strive to complete all necessary treatments in as few visits as possible and made every effort to provide me with the best possible treatment plan to fit my budget, keeping me fully informed of all the cost at every visit. You also took the time to educate me on my specific needs and always offered choices so that I had the power to choose what worked best for me. With the hectic working life that I lead the receptionists always did their up most to find appointments that suited me and I am forever grateful for the appointment reminder phone calls that I received from them

My name is Gilliani. I started work for Declan and Stephen’s father back in 1977. I came to the practice at sixteen straight from leaving school. I was trained to be a dental nurse and stayed until I had my children. I was delighted when a part time position became available allowing me to return to work.

Over the past 30 years I have seen the practice change and go from strength to strength. Declan and Stephen are always encouraging us to expand our knowledge in dentistry. The boys are eager to take us out several times a year so we all have become not only work colleagues but also good friends.

Sometimes working in a busy practice can become stressful but Declan and Stephen are always available to listen and help solve any problems

When I heard about you entering best team award, I had to write to you and let you know how great your team has always come across. I was recommended to your practice three years ago and I have been very happy with the service I have received, both from your staff and your dentists.

When I first joined your practice I was a very nervous patient, but the staff did everything they could to put me at ease. My dentist was also very helpful, he knew I was nervous and made me feel very comfortable and said he would stop when ever I wanted to.

Your staff are always happy to help, whenever I have to change or cancel my appointment it is always done with a pleasant manner. Every time I enter your practice, whether your staff are busy or not I am always greeted with a smile and a pleasant ‘hello’, even through the recent changes to your practice and the many challenges this must bring the pleasant and helpful manner of your staff has remained constant.

My name is Katie and I have been working at The Smile Centre for a year. My mum, who also works here, persuaded me to try dental nursing as I was not enjoying my previous job. I would come to the dental practice Friday afternoons and watch Stephen do different treatments, which really interested me. I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to have a full time job and train to become a dental nurse. I now work here 5 days a week and go to college one night a week.

I never thought that this would be the job for me but I have proved myself wrong and actually really enjoy it. Stephen and Declan are very good dentists and I enjoy working with them very much, they are enthusiastic about their work and always aim to please. Their work is professional and it’s really rewarding to see patients come out happy and that they have made them feel so much better about themselves. They take us out every year, which makes us bond so much more as a team and they are always so generous. I am so glad to be training here and hoping that I can make a good dental nurse in a few years to come.
